Your Curriculum Vitae (CV)

Curriculum Vitae

Having an accurate CV (Curriculum Vitae) is important so that we can determine which vacancies are appropriate for you.

Your CV should be approximately, around 2 pages, make sure that you add all your Educational experience, your skills & qualifications. To help you get started, we have provided 2 templates you can download.

Curriculum Vitae

For British trained teachers, you will need Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) this allows you to teach in state-maintained schools in England & Wales.

For teachers from other countries, you will need to have a fully recognised teaching qualification from your country of origin. UK NARIC is the designated United Kingdom national agency for the recognition and comparison of international qualifications and skills. It performs this official function on behalf of the UK Government

Get Interview Ready

Congratulations if you been offered an interview, next step is being prepared for your interview, to help you involve a friend or family member this will help in your preparation.
Here are some typical questions that may come up in your interview:

  • Why are you interested in teaching
  • What teaching experience do you have.
  • How will your experience, skills & personal qualities fit in within a school environment
  • What are your teaching strengths.
  • What are your long term goals in teaching.

Its important that before the day of your interview, you have done some work up front, you need to arrive in time, relaxed & as calm as possible.

Here are some tips that will help:

  • Research the school by browsing their website
  • Arrive at least 10 minutes prior to the time of your interview
  • If you have your own transport, check your parking options, make sure you have some cash if you need to use a car parking meter.
  • If using public transport, check timetables, check how far transport facilities are from the school.
  • Take a pen & note pad with some of your own questions for the interviewers.
  • Dress appropriately, take the weather forecast into consideration.
  • Take a mobile with you with contact details for the interview. make sure your mobile is on silent or airplane mode before the interview.

Make sure you do the following

  • This is the job for you - Go for it & inform the school that you accept the job.
  • This is NOT the job for you - Then its equally important to inform the school why this vacancy was not for you.
  • Is there anything you're not sure about?. You can contact us or the school & get clarafication.
  • If the school has requested any paperwork or certificates, make sure you forward them.

First Day At School

Starting any new job can be daunting. You will be nervous, but once you arrive, you will find a welcoming environment with colleagues happy to help you adjust.
Here are some simple tips to get you going:
